The Ukee

The UKEE Boat Club is named after the historic river haulage barge, "Ukee".

Built at Morgan, SA, in 1908 the "Ukee" measures 127 x 26 x 9 feet and is of composite construction (iron frames and topsides with a red gum bottom).

The "Ukee" on occasion carried 1700 bails of wool (a record) out of the Darling River up to Echuca.

The "Ukee" can be viewed from the River or the road at the upstream end of the Club's moorings.
